Customer Feedback
"One of the original team remembered the April move when he saw “Matilda” my wife’s dress making dummy. ‘I carried her out and now I am carrying her in!
Polite, efficient, helpful and careful with all goods - what more did we want? Nothing!
Thank you to all concerned." June 2019"The men that moved us were friendly and very efficient. They got the job done in good time and were careful with our things.
They were fun and had a good laugh with us." July 2019The man who came to give us a quote was clear and concise. Our move was smooth and stress free. The men were efficient and friendly and we had a good laugh with them too throughout the day. Nothing was too much trouble and they worked very hard to get everything done and put into the places we wanted. July 2019
"House move with such wonderful help and positive vibes from R & J Removals.
Just love the way they say 'we can' rather than offer a sharp intake of breath when sizing up the furniture and the access via the staircase!
Happy staff and an easy transaction, what more can we ask?
We would like to say a big thank you :-)" June 2019"Jason and Sergei at R&J were fantastic. It was a hot day and they worked really hard, hardly stopping and packed away everything quickly and calmly and we hardly did a thing.
They'd unpacked everything into the garage by the time we turned up with our keys and continued working late into the afternoon until everything was moved and roughly in the room we wanted things.
We can't thank them both for everything and made our move day so much easier. They worked incredibly hard for us and we thank them for that. Fantastic service, really nice people and super efficient. Thank you so much for everything. Alice and Alex." July 2019"The administration was courteous and efficient. The lorry turned up punctually, and the team, Dan and Serge, were excellent. We are an elderly couple and they could not have been more kindly and considerate. They worked non stop and completed the move in double quick time. There was no damage of any kind to our possessions or the interior walls. They came back a couple of weeks later to collect the empty boxes, which saved us having to make arrangements for them to be collected by the council.
Our daughter recommended R&J following her equally pleasant experience when they moved her and her family a few years ago, and we would have no hesitation in recommending their services to others." May 2019"R&J were a delight to deal with from start to finish. They were highly recommended by a friend and they didn’t disappoint. The team of 3 couldn’t have done more to help. They were polite, cheerful and nothing was too much trouble.
They worked solidly without a break to get the job done as soon as possible.
The packing was done carefully with fragile items bubble wrapped and everything clearly labelled for ease of unpacking.
I can’t recommend them highly enough and would definitely use them again." July 2019"Having moved ourselves in January to a small rental and the moved again in May to our new home we decided we needed help to move the last of our possessions from a storage unit to our new home. I only booked RandJ about a week before but they were able to fit us in. Matt and Dan arrived on time and loaded the lorry taking care with every item. They unloaded with the same care. After depositing all the boxes in the correct rooms they even offered to sift things again if we wanted any of them relocated to different rooms. All in all really pleased with every aspect of the move and wished w'ed used them before." June 2019
"R&J removals are an excellent company to do business with. There is no pressure selling and the quote was the most competitive given. Everything was done on time and both Dan and Rob were pleasant and professional and more than happy to meet our requirements. We could not have wished for two better people to move our home contents and is a tribute to R&J Removals for having such dedicated individuals. I had unfortunately misunderstood that final payment was due prior to the removal day but after a very quick call the matter was resolved satisfactorily. We would certainly highly recommend their services to others." "We were absolutely delighted with every aspect of our move. It was at the first meeting that Paul suggested we consider storage nearer to our destination and exploring a local company to deliver to our new home. No other companies suggested that to us and hence their quotes were overall more expensive - though R&J Removers were not the cheapest quote for getting our stuff to the house and storage.
They gave confidence through our discussions and delivered an excellent service. The four guys involved in the move worked really well together and were good humoured, polite and respectful of each other and us. Top job - thank you. We thoroughly recommend. 😊👏👍" June 2019"RJ did a fantastic job in moving me at short notice. The guys worked incredibly hard. To fill two lorrys and safety delivered and unpacked at my new house.
I found them through word of mouth and would highly recommend. They were competitive, professional and a delight to use." May 2019"Excellent service the two guys who moved us did a fantastic job"

"What can I say apart from excellent from start to finish. We had to arrange a move at short notice from Bristol to Hertfordshire on a Friday, I spoke to Paul and he advised they were fully booked but advised they could collect on Thursday and store our stuff in a secure location and deliver it first thing on Saturday which actually worked out better for us.
The two guys who collected our stuff on Thursday arrived bang on 8.30am as advised the day before and were in and out within 30 mins, very polite and professional.
Saturday morning arrived and as advised I had a call from Matt to advise he was 30 mins away. Matt arrived and got all the boxes and stuff up to our second floor flat with no issue and was very polite and professional.
Due to the distance I thought what they charged was excellent and would recommend them to anyone for a polite and professional service and turning up when they say they would
" July 2019"The removers were very prompt and friendly and got started as soon as they arrived. The boxes they used to put all my clothes in on rails were amazing so I did not have to take everything off of the hangers!
I had labelled my boxes and they placed all in the correct rooms. They were very considerate about not damaging either my old or new property on the move day. I would defo use them again in the future!" July 2019
Whitehall
Whitehall, is a district on the edge of inner Bristol city in England.
Parks
The local green space is Whitehall Playing Fields or Packer's Ground as it was known, taking its name from the local chocolate factory - Packers. As of 2006 this company is known as Famous Names and has just announced its total closure. The playing field is to be fully redeveloped for sports use for The City Academy Bristol school.
Housing
In part of the area, adjoining Easton and Eastville, there are still many streets and houses from the Victorian and Edwardian eras and in the part, adjoining St George, Bristol is the Gordon Estate with houses that were built in 1936. This area originally consisted of market gardens and the new estate was built on the rhubarb patch and as a result, rhubarb was quite commonplace in many gardens.
Some houses villas overlook the adjoining St. George Park and these have small balconies.
Newer houses have since been built on the former Co-op Bakery and Rose Green High School sites. There is a plaque on the original school wall, which was retained, giving some history, about John Wesley having preached on this site.
The comedian Bob Hope lived for a time in Whitehall Road in his youth.
Shops
The shopping rank either side of Embassy Road on the Gordon Estate, once had a newsagent, a haberdasher, a grocers, a bakery, a pet shop, a green-grocer, a chemist, a hairdresser, a butcher, a toy shop and ironmonger. Many of the shops have been converted back to houses or flats, with only a newsagent and a sandwich shop remaining.
Churches
Local Churches include Crofts End Church, established in 1895 by George Brown, as a Christian mission for miner's children it became known as 'The Miner's Mission' or Crofts End Mission. Still part of the local community and very much a family church its current Pastor is Andrew Yelland.
The Parish Church of St Ambrose has undergone some change in latter years, with its vicarage being demolished and replaced by a sheltered housing scheme for older people. The church hall was refurbished as part of this and is now The Beehive Centre with day-care facilities. The Almshouses were retained and are still in use.
Whitehall Chapel has been retained and restored, but no longer for church purposes. It is now in use as offices.
The Westminster Garage and allotments on the opposite side of Whitehall Road have also disappeared and instead we see a small town housing development.
It is interesting, to note, that the 48th Bristol Scout Group Headquarters adjacent to this development was originally sited on the new housing site. When the garage was originally redeveloped and enlarged, the garage company paid for the Scout Group to have a new building built. This replaced their 'tin hut', which had been rebuilt by the boys and their parents, after its transportation from Crofts End Mission, now Crofts End Church. Crofts End Church were having a new church built, and so their old building moved on and had a new lease of life for many more years.
Public houses
The Kings Head public house has long been part of the Whitehall scene and was originally owned by the Parsons family. At that time there were stables attached as dray horses from George's Brewery were quite a common site on Bristol roads.
